How to Find a Drug Rehab Center

At Valley Recovery & Treatment, we can help you find a drug rehab center that works to meet your individual rehabilitation needs. Through evidence-based therapy and multidimensional programs, our clients can recover and rehabilitate in a comfortable and safe environment.

What Is a Drug Rehab?

Drug rehab is a safe place to get sober and recover from the trauma of drug addiction.  Individuals can access rehabilitation through a variety of methods meant to support the transition to sobriety. Drug rehabs offer mental health care, education, and teach positive mindfulness. Drug rehabs can offer inpatient or outpatient care and focus on holistic healing of the mind, body, and soul.

Inpatient drug rehab is a residential program where clients live at a facility for a period of time ranging from 30-90 days. Through this time, individuals are provided a safe space to detox from substances, attend individual and group therapy, receive education on maintaining mental and physical health, and build a community of support amongst other clients.  Inpatient rehab living conditions range from large-scale hospital grade facilities to luxury rehabilitation in an intimate setting.

Outpatient drug rehab is an intensive program where individuals reside at home, but attend frequent counseling, group therapy, and other treatments (sometimes medical) throughout the week. Through this process individuals receive counseling and education about substance abuse and how to manage their everyday lives.

Clients who attend an intensive program, manage external factors much sooner than individuals in inpatient drug rehab. In inpatient programs, individuals have an opportunity to roll-play and practice before attempting the process in the real world. Outpatient programs offer support, but clients are dealing with societal and community issues much sooner. Ideally, for individuals who are attempting to get sober for the first time, inpatient residential drug rehab can provide the basis. Additional outpatient therapy can be used as a supportive aftercare or should a relapse occur.

How Do You Know If You Need to Go to Drug Rehab?

This is a challenging question, but if you’re asking yourself if you need to go to drug rehab, the answer is probably yes. Using addictive substances like opioids, narcotics, stimulants, or alcohol, can alter how your body functions and cause side-effects. Even doctor prescribed medication can be addictive and cause additional problems if not managed correctly. Drug rehab provides a safe environment for detoxification and rehabilitation.

If you’re still unsure about drug rehab, consider the following questions from the National Institute on Drug Abuse

  • Do you think about drugs a lot?
  • Did you ever try to stop or cut down on your drug usage but couldn’t?
  • Have you ever thought you couldn’t fit in or have a good time without the use of drugs?
  • Do you ever use drugs because you are upset or angry at other people?
  • Have you ever used a drug without knowing what it was or what it would do to you?
  • Have you ever taken one drug to get over the effects of another?
  • Have you ever made mistakes at a job or at school because you were using drugs?
  • Does the thought of running out of drugs really scare you?
  • Have you ever stolen drugs or stolen to pay for drugs?
  • Have you ever been arrested or in the hospital because of your drug use?
  • Have you ever overdosed on drugs?
  • Has using drugs hurt your relationships with other people?

Answering yes to these questions indicates that you may be struggling with a substance use disorder that requires rehabilitation.
