60 Day Rehab

60-DAY PROGRAM DESIGNED TO UNDERSTAND ADDICTION

The 60-day program offered here at Valley Recovery Center is designed to provide those with addictions a more extensive treatment plan. Over the course of two months, they will have time to not only recover and heal but also to develop an understanding of their addiction and its causes. Our patients are then able to work on changing their way of life and avoiding the situations that lead to addiction. And they’re able to do all of this in a welcoming and understanding community, one dedicated to providing the care that they need.

Overcoming addiction is not easy. But with the right type of care, you will be able to move past your dependency issues. One of the things you will need to decide is how long you need to stay in rehab. Generally, 30-, 60- and 90-day programs are available. The one you choose will depend on the severity of your addiction as well as your individual needs.

Find Your Path to Lasting Recovery

Why Does the Length of the Program Matter?

There are many factors that come into play when choosing the length of your program. Here are some things to consider.

How Long Can You Stay Away? Some people can’t afford to be away from their jobs and families for long. Your job may only provide you with a limited number of sick days and vacation days. This will prohibit you from staying in a rehab for an extended period of time.

You may also be dealing with family issues. For instance, you may have a young child or sick relative that you need to care for. If this is the case, you may not be able to spend much time away recovering.

Cost: Many rehab programs work with patients by offering finance options and accepting a wide variety of insurance. However, costs can still add up. Your financial situation will come into play when deciding the type of rehab program you can afford.

Severity of Addiction: Just like any disease, addiction is easier to treat if it is caught in its early stages. If you go for treatment for addiction before things get out of hand, you may not need to stay in rehab for long.

On the other hand, if you have been doing drugs for a long time, you may be having a hard time overcoming withdrawal symptoms and adjusting to sober living. If this is the case, you may need to enroll in a longer recovery program.

Why Choose a 60 Day Rehab?

Here are some reasons why a 60-day rehab may be right for you.

Severity of Addiction: The time you spend in rehab should be consistent with the severity of your addiction. A 60-day rehab is recommended for those who need to spend a little more time recovering but do not require a 90-day program.

Allowances for Spending Time Away: Let’s face it, 60 days is a considerable amount of time to spend away from home. This plan is best for those who do not have to care for loved ones or have a job they need to get back to.

However, when considering these factors, health should be a priority. After all, if you don’t care for yourself, you won’t be able to be productive at your job or have the ability to care for others.

If you think you need the 60 days but can’t be away from home that long, talk to your employer to find out if they can get someone to fill in for your temporarily. If you have a loved one to care for, perhaps you can get a friend or relative to watch them while you are gone.

Cost: While a 60-day rehab is more expensive than a 30-day program, it’s less costly than a 90-day program. If you are having difficulty meeting the costs, see what you can work out with the facility and your insurance.

What is Involved in a 60 Day Rehab Program?

A 60-day rehab program doesn’t differ much from other programs. It just involves a longer term of treatment. Here’s what you can expect when you check-in.

Detox

Detox is typically the first step of the rehab process. It involves allowing your body to rid itself of harmful toxins.

This stage is often hardest for patients to deal with. After doing drugs for so long, the body becomes used to having them in its system. Without the drug, the body becomes sick and exhibits flu-like symptoms, also known as withdrawal symptoms.

The patient knows the only way to get rid of these symptoms is to do more drugs. This makes them likely to go back to using.

When you check into a 60-day rehab, a medical staff will supervise you throughout the detox process. They will keep you as comfortable as possible and see to it that relapse does not occur.

Therapy

After a patient completes detox, they will move on to therapy. It is typical for a dual diagnosis approach to be integrated.

Most patients begin using to treat an underlying mental condition. They may be dealing with anxiety, depression, a personality disorder, or another type of emotional ailment.

They may feel that reaching out for help will make them look weak, or they may not think their problem is not that bad. Instead of getting the care they need, they choose to self-medicate with drugs and alcohol.

Medical professionals know that the addiction will never go away unless the underlying condition is treated. The dual diagnosis approach simultaneously treats the addiction and the mental disorder leading to the addiction making for long-lasting results.

Several types of therapies can be integrated into the dual diagnosis process, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), holistic therapy, group therapy, and more. The facility will analyze the patient to come up with a customized strategy that’s best suited to their individual needs.

Aftercare: Patients often deal with their biggest challenges in maintaining sobriety after they check out of rehab. Once they are back in the ‘real world’, they must once again face the stressors that led them to drink. They may also run into people they used with and places they used at and become tempted to go back to their old ways.

A 60-day rehab understands how difficult this adjustment period can be. That’s why they offer ongoing support in the form of outpatient care. Patients continue undergoing therapy to ensure they maintain sobriety after their time in recovery.
