Dual Diagnosis

Rehabilitation Facility Located in Santa Clarita

At Valley Recovery Center, we know that many of our patients are dealing with other issues in addition to addiction. Dual diagnosis treatment is something we provide for patients dealing with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and other personality disorders. Suffering from one or more of these disorders along with addiction is incredibly difficult, and dealing with them outside of a professional environment is very risky. Individuals with a dual diagnosis should absolutely seek help from a recovery center with the resources and expertise to provide the care they need.

Insuring a long lasting recovery

Dual diagnosis patients often respond to treatment differently than others with addiction. In most cases, the personality disorders were present before the addiction began, and drugs and alcohol served as a way to self-medicate. In order to achieve lasting recovery, the personality disorders need to be treated along with the addiction.

Qualified and Experienced Team

The dedicated team of psychologists, psychiatrists, and counselors here at Valley Recovery Center has learned that by treating both addiction and personality disorders simultaneously, our patients can truly address the issues affecting their lives. In order to accomplish this, we provide advanced rehab programs for treating mental illness along with addiction. Treating them both helps patients recover more quickly and more effectively.

Detailed Evaluation Process

A thorough evaluation is a critical part of treating dual diagnosis patients. After all, we need to properly identify any personality disorders and develop an understanding of the patient’s history. Common issues can include depression, manic depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder, among many others. Treating these issues along with addiction requires a qualified team.
